<div>Dear Family, Friends and Supporters,
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>My name is Anika Thompson and I have the honor of serving as the PTA President of Alcar Academy based in Jamaica. Today, I am reaching out on behalf of our parents, students, and dedicated staff with a heavy heart and an urgent plea for help.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>As you may know, Hurricane Melissa recently brought severe devastation to Montego Bay,Jamaica and our beloved Alcar Academy was among the hardest hit.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Established in January 2018, our school has always been a safe haven and a beacon of learning for children ages 2 to 18. Now, we face damage that threatens our ability to continue providing the quality education and supportive environment our children deserve.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Our main building housing the Administrative Office, Principal’s Office, Grades 2 and 3 classrooms, Sick Bay/Uniform Room/Nurse’s Station, and student bathrooms—has lost its roof entirely.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Beyond the structural destruction, we have also lost essential equipment and resources, including:
</div>
<ul>
<li>Solar panels
</li>
<li>Speakers and audio systems
</li>
<li>Security camera equipment
</li>
<li>Air conditioners
</li>
<li>Starlink (internet equipment)
</li>
<li>Classroom furniture
</li>
<li>Projectors
</li>
</ul>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>As a privately owned institution, Alcar Academy does not receive government or religious sponsorship. Tuition fees alone sustain our operations, leaving us with limited means to recover from a disaster of this magnitude.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Today, we humbly ask for your support. Our children’s education has already been disrupted, and rebuilding quickly is crucial. Any assistance financial, material, or shared through spreading our message will make a tremendous difference in restoring our school and helping us reopen our doors as soon as possible.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>On behalf of the PTA Committee and the entire Alcar Academy family, thank you for considering our plea. Your generosity will directly impact the lives and futures of our students.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>With gratitude,
</div>
<div>Anika Thompson
</div>
<div>PTA President Alcar Academy
