<div>On Friday, June 6th, Kodee Hermann was hospitalized at Kadlec in Richland with a serious case of dysentery. Despite his strong spirit and determination, Kodee's condition worsened on Wednesday, June 11th, and he was life-flighted to Spokane for critical care.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>The infection has produced Shiga toxin, which is causing serious complications. The toxin has damaged the lining of his blood vessels, leading to clotting that is blocking kidney function. As a result, Kodee has become anemic — his red blood cells are trapped in these clots and unable to circulate properly. The next potential risk is his pancreas, which we’re praying the illness does not reach.

<div>Only 10-15% of children with this type of infection experience such severe complications — but if you know Kodee, you know he’s a fighter. His "go big or go home" attitude has carried him through many challenges, and now more than ever, we need that strength.
