<div>My name is Joel Hollingsworth, and I run Smoke River Ranch—a place built on the belief that communities should have a direct hand in their own food supply. Recently, we’ve come under pressure from state-level securities agencies who are trying to classify our herdshare program as a security. In reality, herdshares are about real animals and represent a straightforward cattle boarding contract, not a financial instrument. This challenge threatens not only our ranch, but the broader idea that people should be able to support and participate in local food systems without facing unnecessary regulatory burdens or government overreach.

<div> The funds raised through this campaign will go directly toward covering legal fees, supporting outreach efforts to educate the public and policymakers, and keeping Smoke River Ranch running while we navigate these challenges. Every dollar helps us stand up for the principle that communities deserve a say in how their food is produced and distributed. Your support will help us protect the privacy and financial involvement of everyone who believes in a healthier, more resilient food system.

</div>
<div> Please help us continue to fight for the cause of local sovereignty over food supply chains. Together, we can build a more resilient and decentralized paradigm—one that stands in contrast to traditional industrial agriculture owned by the few. Your support means everything to us and to the future of community-driven stewardship.
