<div><br />
</div>
<div>Most people don’t reach out when they’re in crisis.
</div>
<div>They reach out just before.
</div>
<div>That moment… is where we meet them.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>What if we could reach people before their darkest moment… and still be there in it?
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Every day in Australia, nine lives are lost to suicide. Behind every number is someone’s child, parent, friend, or colleague.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>But struggle doesn’t start at crisis. It builds quietly, over time.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>That’s where Mowana Safe Space comes in.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>We are here for the before.
</div>
<div>Before the crisis.
</div>
<div>Before things feel unbearable.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>But also for the moment when they do.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>We offer a place where people can walk in, sit down, have a coffee, and talk to someone who genuinely cares, without judgment, without paperwork, and without waiting weeks for an appointment.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Whether someone is feeling “not quite right”… or at breaking point… they are welcome here.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>And it works.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>In just three years, we have supported over 3,300 people in our community. In May 2026 alone, 159 people walked through our doors.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Some came early.
</div>
<div>Some came when they felt they had nowhere else to go.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>All of them mattered.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>“I walked in on my darkest day, and for the first time, I felt seen, heard, and not alone.”
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>“In just a month, their support pulled me from darkness.”
</div>

</div>
<div>A Step Forward… And a Team That Never Stops Showing Up
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Thanks to the incredible support of our local Council, we now have access to a space overlooking the calm of Narrabeen Lagoon. It includes a breakout room, an outdoor courtyard, and even a basketball court nearby, small but powerful ways to help people reconnect and breathe again.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>But this space isn’t permanent.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Each time we open, our volunteers set everything up from scratch… and pack it all away again at the end of the night.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>And still, we show up. Every time.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>No matter the effort, no matter the limitations, we make sure the door is open for anyone who needs us, whether they’re quietly struggling or at breaking point.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>We are also contributing rent toward this space, which adds pressure to a service run entirely by volunteers.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>This space has given us stability…
</div>
<div>but not certainty.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>We’ve proven we will always find a way.
</div>
<div>Now we need your help to make that way sustainable.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Our Goal: $100,000
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>This will secure a permanent, welcoming space for one year, covering rent, essential outgoings, and creating an environment where people feel safe the moment they walk in.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>A place where no one has to pretend they’re okay.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Why Your Donation Matters
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Because of our volunteer model, your donation goes straight to impact.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>It doesn’t sit in layers of administration.
</div>
<div>It doesn’t get diluted.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>It turns into open doors.
</div>
<div>Warm conversations.
</div>
<div>Moments of connection that can change a life’s trajectory.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>You’re not just funding a space.
</div>
<div>You’re helping someone choose to stay.
</div>
<div><br />
