<div>I’ve lived with diabetes for 26 years, and now it is threatening my sight. I am beginning to lose my vision due to severe eye hemorrhages. Without urgent surgery, the hemorrhages will detach my retinas, leaving me permanently blind.
</div>

<div>Unfortunately, this surgery is not covered by insurance and must be done overseas. On top of the surgery itself, I must also cover the cost of travel for two people, accommodations, food, taxis, and medications.
</div>

<div>I have no family nearby to lean on, so I am turning to the kindness of others for help. Teaching has always been my passion and my way of giving back, and now I find myself needing support to save something most of us take for granted…my sight.
