<div>We are appealing for donations to support the ongoing major renovation of the Church of St. Michael and St. Gabriel in The Hague — the only Bulgarian Orthodox church in the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Help us take the final step toward restoring and renewing our church.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>The charitable campaign is being organized with the blessing of His Eminence Metropolitan Anthony.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>The church is undergoing a complete renovation, including major restoration of the doors and window frames, replacement and insulation of the flooring, which will be funded by a donor, renovation of the heating system, replacement of the electrical installation, and renovation of the kitchen, restroom, and storage room. The latter will be transformed to include a children's area and a library.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>The renovation, which began on 31 August 2026, is expected to take approximately 6–7 weeks. The church will remain open on Sundays, and parishioners will be able to pray and light candles in the narthex at the entrance.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>The total cost of the renovation is estimated at €74,000.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>A large portion of the required funds has already been raised. €30,000 was provided by the Religious Affairs Directorate of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Bulgaria, with the assistance of His Eminence Metropolitan Anthony of Western and Central Europe.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>His Eminence Metropolitan Anthony also donated funds for the renovation of the kitchen.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>The altar area will be extended according to a design by Father Nikolay.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Father Nikolay also found a donor from Cologne who donated a new altar table (Holy Table) and prothesis table for the altar, both made of marble.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>The Georgian community has also contributed to the renovation. The Georgian Metropolitanate donated €700, while Georgian parishioners donated an additional €1,460.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Due to the replacement of the altar table and prothesis table, a full consecration of the church will take place on the Feast Day on 8 November 2026, performed by His Eminence Metropolitan Anthony. The Divine Liturgy will also be attended by Georgian Bishop Dositey and priests from the Diocese of Western and Central Europe.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>The fundraising campaign, which was launched at the beginning of June, is still ongoing. Approximately €3,000 is still needed.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Donations can also be made to the bank account of the Church Community of St. Paisius of Hilendar:
