<div>Hattie has faced serious health challenges over the past decade, spending six of those years unable to work. She’s finally back on her feet, working from home, but finances are still extremely tight as she continues to catch up on years of medical and household bills.

<div>Her roof has been in terrible shape for a long time and desperately needed to be replaced. A friend of a friend generously offered to do the work for free—asking only for the cost of materials. Hattie used her savings to buy everything needed to get the job done.

<div>Unfortunately, after the old roof was stripped down to the wood, the roofer had an emergency and is unable to finish the work. Right now, her home is only covered by tarps, which is a very temporary fix that won't last long.
