<div>Hi there! I'm PK, and I make the Break shows. With plenty of help from others. This is the fifth year of working on Break things, and the twelfth since I first started using vrchat and started slowly learning how to build worlds. I had no 3d experience, although my goal from the start was always to host virtual shows for musicians on my little record label. And after a few years of learning the basics, in 2017 i began doing some early experiments, in ways similar to what we do now, where the entire world changes from song to song. It was mostly using 3d animations and 360 videos back then, with a few particles. VRC was buggier though, plus i didn’t really know what i was doing, so while people seemed to enjoy them, I gave up on music events for a few years. That is, until i saw years later how cool events like Ghostclub were, and I wanted to get back into it.

</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Plus i had a bit more free time to try stuff out since the pandemic started. I couldn’t do my regular job, treeplanting in western Canada. Planting trees kind of wrecked my body after doing it for a long time. after which i couldn’t hardly do any sort of work. Then covid kicked off, i was stuck at home, thankfully like other VRC users that didn’t mean i couldn’t still hang out with friends, so i paused other projects like our adventure time world in order to try making some clubs, and a new VJ system.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>I didn’t have a job though, and haven’t returned to the forests, because of all my injuries. So i’ve scraped by with a very modest living allowance, and by moving to a remote part of Newfoundland, where the cost of living was relatively low. Sure i’m cut off from much of society, but thankfully i can still attend and host events, so it’s not too bad at all. At least until hyperinflation made everything on an island like this crazy expensive, and my landlord decided to compensate by turning my home of many years into an Airbnb!
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>And there’s not really any place left i can afford, which means it might be difficult to find as much time to work on these shows. Probably most people reading this are also fighting to survive, but if there is anyone that has managed to get a little ahead, and wants to help support me and these projects, what would help is if i could raise some money to pay for a big move. Alllll the way to the pacific! i’ve lived in vancouver before, and it’s a beautiful place, and surprisingly the overall cost of living will be similar to anywhere else in the country. As long as i can get there, and replace most of my possessions, since i can’t take much with me.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>I’m hoping to raise $1500. Well I hope I can raise even more, but that would be enough to pay for my travel costs, and a few things to get me started. A thousand more than that would be very helpful but everybody’s cost of living has gone way up so i don’t expect there to be a lot of spare change laying around.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>I’ll take whatever i can get! And do my best. There’s lots coming up, if/when i get settled. First thing will be to finish Break 26, Resistors, which just needs a bit of fixing and tweaking. Then there’s Break 16, Furiosa, which I’ve still never made public, it featured a short set from me, and another by Muta with Zaron. I wanted to use the great skull stage we made for some newer sets to add to it with Hadean and Niko Scheme, but there’s never time, so i think i’ll take a week to complete it and release the replayable version. There’s Ooo Fest 2, which a lot of is done, in fact 3 and 4 also have lots finished but i wanted to work on other projects before I return to those. Part 2 will mostly take place in the Candy Kingdom, and Jacob 2-2 will be one of the performers!
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Also in the works is a sequel to the Cubes ARG i did years ago, where people hunted through different vrc maps for codes other world builders hid for me. I’ve started on a new and improved version of this game although that’ll take a while to set up.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Currently though i’m working on a big new show called Dreamlands, which i think will be the best Break yet, and i hope to put out this year. But i can’t share any of that yet. And then there’s what i'm planning next year, if we can pull it off we’ll do one live event each month. And cross-platform! Quest users won’t see nearly what pc people will, but hopefully it’s still pretty interesting. Along with all the great music from the dj’s we’ll invite. And VJ’s will use a new system that’s more powerful and easier to use, that’ll also be public for anyone that wants to host their own parties. Each month we’ll change the environment to something new, and the Break event will introduce it, before others can use it too.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>For those that have already supported me on Patreon, it’s very much appreciated. Most of those funds have gone right back into new shows, but maybe one day it'll pay my rent, that’s the goal! And even make enough to commission others to collaborate. I never want to charge anyone for attendance, i just want to keep making them better, try new things, and work with interesting people. So if anyone has something to spare for this move, it's much appreciated.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
