Pay for medical treatment for Tanzanian people
Don protégé
Hello,
My name is Molly and I am just finishing my 4th year of medicine at Manchester Uni. As part of my degree I am doing a medical elective for 4 weeks this June/July. I have chosen to go to Moshi in Tanzania with the company the Mighty Roar. I will be working in 3 different hospitals whilst I’m there including St Joseph’s as pictured.
Whilst I have self funded my trip I wanted to raise money to help pay for patients who can’t afford their medical bills. Tanzania has substantial health challenges. Only 24% of the population have access to sanitation facilities, allowing the rapid spread of diseases. Shockingly high numbers of women die per year (3x the global average) due to preventable complications during and after birth. Furthermore, 7 million children die annually due to highly preventable causes of diarrhoea, malaria, lack of oxygen at birth, pneumonia and other infections.
The majority of these deaths could be entirely avoided by Tanzanian people having better access to healthcare and the means to pay for it. This is why I wanted to raise money to pay for the treatment of patients I will be meeting.
Your money can go very far out there and I will personally let you know who it helps and how. Even a small amount could save a child’s life by paying for some much needed antibiotics.
Any donations would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you
