<div><strong>We’re putting together a makerspace.</strong>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Patchwork is a community makerspace that fosters local mutual aid and the solidarity economy. After years of organizing in the neighborhood, and months of running a successful pop up, we are making our dream space a reality!
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Patchwork fills a critical gap as an independent organization that is of, by, and for the working-class community in Ward 2 and beyond. We are a hub that fosters creativity, collaboration, and cross-pollination among community members and organizations committed to a more free and caring world. Patchwork offers classes, workshops, and skillshares, community meeting space, a tool library, shared workspace, music performance space, and reservable event space.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>We operates as a member-run cooperative, offering sliding scale monthly memberships between 10-100 a month. Patchwork has hit over 100 members in just the last 3 months!
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Next month, we plan to move into a new space and to get it ready we need help from our community.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Your gift will be used for:
</div>
<ul>
<li>Essential safety building checks: plumbing and electrical and install utility sink for the makerspace
</li>
<li>Install door lock system, enabling safe and accessible member access
</li>
<li>Check and repair HVAC, investigate and fix water damage
</li>
<li>Remove ground floor walls to open up space and access windows to make the space more cozy
</li>
<li>Buy work tables, couches, chairs, desks, and shelving for makerspace, coworking, and lounging areas
</li>
<li>Cover real estate transaction fees
</li>
</ul>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>We’re in final negotiations on our new space. If this deal doesn’t work out, every dollar goes toward our move to a different permanent home in Ward 2, and we’ll keep you updated every step of the way.
