<div>This is Darcy — a 15-year-old dog with a gentle soul, a stubborn streak, and a heart full of quiet love. And this is Megan, her person — her safe place, her best friend, and her constant companion for the last 4–5 years.

<div>Yesterday, something devastating happened. Darcy fell from the second-story window of our apartment. It was sudden, shocking, and terrifying.

<div>We rushed her to the vet, hoping for the best. Thankfully, there were no broken bones, but Darcy has suffered a serious spinal injury — and now has no movement in her back legs.

<div>The vet suspects damage to her spinal cord, but we won’t know how severe it is — or what options she has — until she gets a full neurological assessment and imaging.

<div>The good news? Darcy is still here. Still alert. Still trying to move. She cries out in discomfort sometimes, which tells us she's feeling something — and still fighting.
