<div>❤️ UPDATE —<strong> DAD HAS NOW BEEN EXHUMED</strong>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Our dad, Michael Mosey, has now been exhumed, by coincidence, exactly twenty years to the day after he was buried.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>There are some things no family should ever have to face, and having to exhume our own dad is one of them. It has been an incredibly difficult and emotional experience, but amongst the sadness and trauma there is an overwhelming sense of relief in finally being able to say:
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong>Dad is safe now.</strong>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Those four words mean everything to us.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>But our journey is not quite over. Although Dad has now been exhumed, the costs have not all been paid. We are awaiting the final costs of the specialist work and will provide an update once everything has been confirmed.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong>Our GoFundMe will therefore remain open until we reach our goal, and we still need your help.</strong>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>If you can donate, no matter the amount, it will help us meet the remaining costs. If you cannot donate, sharing our fundraiser could help it reach someone who can. We are asking for one final push to help us finish what we started for Dad.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Dad's final resting place and any memorial arrangements will remain private. We respectfully ask that no locations or arrangements are published or speculated upon.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>To everyone who has donated, shared, offered professional help, supported us or simply shown our family compassion: thank you from the bottom of our hearts. You are our heroes.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong>After twenty years, Dad is finally safe. And for us, that means everything.</strong>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>❤️ UPDATE — THE COURT HAS SAID YES
</div>
<div>Thanks to the incredible support we have received, the court has now granted us permission to exhume our dad, Michael.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>But our journey isn't over yet.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>The specialist exhumation itself and the arrangements that follow remain a significant expense.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>To everyone who has donated, shared or helped us reach this point thank you. You have already made a real difference. ❤️
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Please continue reading below to understand why we made the heartbreaking decision to move Dad.
</div>

<div><strong>Help Us Give Our Dad the Peace He Deserves</strong>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>On 22 August 2006, our dad was murdered. In a single moment, we lost a loving father and grandad. Although his murderer was convicted, our family has lived with the consequences every day since.
</div>
<div>Because of the criminal investigation, Dad could not be buried beside our mum and had to be laid to rest alone.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>For almost twenty years, visiting his grave has brought fear instead of comfort. His memorial has been damaged more than once, keepsakes have been taken, and we have lived with constant anxiety about encountering people connected to the case. Despite reporting incidents and repeatedly asking for help, we were left without a solution that allowed us to feel safe visiting Dad's grave.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>In June 2026, Dad’s murderer died in custody. We were informed that there was nothing in the current arrangements to prevent him from being buried or for his ashes to be scattered in the same cemetery as our dad.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>After exhausting every possible option, we have been left with one heartbreaking decision: to exhume our dad. This is the only way we can protect his dignity and ensure his memory is no longer overshadowed by the man who took his life.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong>Why We Need Help</strong>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>We have contacted solicitors, charities, victim support organisations and other agencies, but we have been unable to secure any funding. We are now facing these costs alone.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Exhumations are rare, and obtaining precise quotations has been extremely difficult. Based on the estimates we have received, the total cost could exceed £25,000 if legal proceedings become prolonged.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>If any good can come from this painful journey, we hope it will be through donating Dad’s headstone, so it can be refurbished and given to a family who could not otherwise afford a memorial.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><strong>How You Can Help</strong>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>If you are able to donate no matter how small you will be helping us give our dad the dignity and peace he has been denied for almost twenty years.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>If you cannot donate, please consider sharing our story. Every share gives us hope and helps us reach more people who may be able to help.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Our dad can no longer tell his story, so we are telling it for him. Every donation, every share and every message of support brings us one step closer to honouring his memory.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>With heartfelt thanks,
</div>
<div>Daughters of Mike.
