<div>Over the weekend, Omar began experiencing excruciating abdominal pain; he described it as a “12 out of 10.” At first, we hoped it was a severe case of gastritis, but as the pain intensified and his condition worsened, it became clear something more serious was unfolding.

<div>On Sunday and Monday, Omar received IV treatment in Placencia and Independence, but by Monday evening, we knew we were facing a medical emergency. <strong>With his symptoms escalating and his bowel completely inactive for days, we rushed him to Belmopan on Tuesday.</strong>

<div>There, Omar was admitted to St. Luke’s Private Hospital, where the medical team quickly recognized the urgency of his condition. He underwent an emergency Exploratory Laparotomy, a major surgical procedure used to diagnose and treat serious abdominal issues. In Omar’s case, the surgery confirmed an intestinal obstruction, a life-threatening condition that required immediate intervention.

<div>Thanks to the skilled and compassionate care of the team at St. Luke’s, the surgery was successful. Omar is now receiving post-operative care and undergoing further testing to ensure his recovery stays on track. We remain hopeful but cautious; this journey is far from over.
