<div>As I approach my <a href="https://www.facebook.com/samfunkdub/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">50th birthday</a>, I've found myself reflecting on where life has taken me, the challenges I've faced and the people we've lost. Way back in 2012, I lost my younger brother, and like so many families, I've lived first-hand the impact that mental health struggles can have.

<div>Earlier this year, I completed the<strong> </strong><a href="https://betweencoasts.substack.com/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Coast to Coast cycle ride from Whitehaven to Sunderland</a>. Almost everyone asked the same question: <strong>"Are you doing it for charity?" </strong>At the time, I wasn't. But those conversations stayed with me.
