<div>Über die letzten Monate haben wir den Prozess von R. begleitet. R. ist eine Schwarze trans Frau, die wegen des Vorwurfs des Totschlages seit September vorm Frankfurter Landgericht stand. Im Juni 2024 wehrte sie sich gegen einen transfeindlichen Angriff, wodurch der Angreifer starb.

<div>Nach 17 Monaten Untersuchungshaft im Männerknast wurde nun letzte Woche das Urteil gesprochen. Obwohl sie als schuldunfähig vom Vorwurf des Totschlags freigesprochen wurde, wird sie weiterhin als Täterin und Fremdgefährdung dargestellt. Sie bleibt auf unbestimmte Zeit eingesperrt, nun in einer forensischen Psychiatrie in Haina in Hessen. Während der Zeit in Untersuchungshaft sammelten sich viele Schulden und ihr Aufenthalt ist abgelaufen. Obendrauf muss sie nun die gesamten Prozesskosten zahlen. Wir möchten sie dabei unterstützen und haben einen Spendenaufruf gestartet. Teilt diesen gerne und macht auf R.s Situation aufmerksam. <div>Over the past months, we have been following Rs trial. R. is a Black trans woman who has been on trial at the Frankfurt Regional Court since September on charges of manslaughter. In June 2024, she defended herself against a transphobic attack, resulting in the death of her attacker.
</div>

</div>
<div>After 17 months in pretrial detention in a men's prison, her verdict was announced last week. Although she was legally pronounced not responisble for the accusation of manslaughter, she continues to be portrayed as a perpetrator and a danger to others. She remains incarcerated indefinitely, now in a forensic psychiatric facility in Haina, Hesse. During her time in pretrial detention, she accumulated many debts and her resident permit has expired. On top of that, she now has to pay the entire trial costs. We want to support her in this and have launched a fundraiser. Please share this and raise awareness of R.'s situation. <div>während ich diesen Aufruf schreibe sitzt R. bereits seit Jahren in Untersuchungshaft. Es gibt Menschen, die immer wieder durch das System "rutschen" oder mit denen mensch sich nicht beschäftigen möchte - weil deren Schicksale zu "kompliziert" seien oder die "Ressourcen" und "Kapazitäten" bei verantwortlichen Fachkräften nicht vorhanden sind.

<div>Dies ist leider bei R. geschehen - sie bekam keine Hilfe von Stellen die angaben für Sie zuständig zu sein. Im Folgenden werde ich versuchen zu schildern was vorgefallen ist und wie ihr R. unterstützen könnt:

<div>Ich lernte R. zum ersten Mal 2022 kennen im Rahmen eines Stammtisches für queere Geflüchtete kennen. R. erzählte mir von Ihrem Alltag als geflüchtete Trans*-Person, von ihren gemachten Erfahrungen in der Unterkunft, von der Diskriminierung auf dem Arbeitsmarkt und von Ihren Wünschen und Hoffnungen.

<div>Im Herbst 2022 berichtete Sie einige Male von einem Fall schwerer Polizeigewalt gegen Sie, welche jedoch juristisch für die Beamt/-innen ohne Konsequenzen blieb – und Sie stattdessen belangt wurde (Geldstrafe 1.200€, Reinigungskosten für Fahrzeug wurden ihr auch noch in Rechnung gestellt). R. trug schwere Verletzungen davon (ihr wurde Pfefferspray aus kurzer Entfernung ins Auge gesprüht), welche mediznisch behandelt werden mussten – und die Sie ebenfalls selbst tragen musste.

<div>R. identifiziert sich selbst als schwarz und trans* und ist von dem Vorfall stark taumatisiert und depressiv. Mit Coping-Mechanismen wie exzessivem Trinken versuchte Sie mit den Nachwirkungen umzugehen und schädigt sich dabei selbst und macht Ihre Situation noch schlimmer.

<div>Der Klientin wurde gerichtlich eine Betreuerin zur Seite gestellt, welche ihr helfen soll – doch laut R. ist hierdurch alles noch schlimmer geworden, da die Betreuerin wichtige Rechnungen und Unterlagen nicht rechtzeitig weiterleitet und auch eine Reihe von wichtigen Dokumenten R. selbst nicht vorliegen.

<div>Die finanzielle Situation hatte sich soweit verschlimmert, dass die Klientin kein Geld mehr für Lebensmittel hatte. An Ihrem Wohnort war Sie seit ca. 2 Jahren auf einer Warteliste der örtlichen Tafel gelistet und landete auf einer Hierarchie der Bedürftigkeit immer unten. Daher hatte ich Kontakt zu der örtlichen Diakonie aufgenommen, jedoch wollte der Sachbearbeiter schriftliche Nachweise darüber haben, dass die Klientin Opfer von Polizeigewalt wurde – was ja allein aus dem Urteil nicht ersichtlich war, denn dies war sehr tendenziös und ging ausschließlich auf Umstände ein, welche R. diskreditierten („Für ein agressives Verhalten bestand kein Grund“ – laut Aussage unserer Klientin wurde Sie von den Beamt/-innen in abwertender Form als Prostituierte bezeichnet).

<div>Die Organisation damals und auch sonst keine andere Stelle hatten es anscheinend als notwendig erachtet die Darstellung von R. zu dokumentieren, obwohl Sie glaubhaft geschildert hat, was vorgefallen war.
</div>

<div>Heute habe ich mit der Anwältin von R. telefoniert. R. braucht Mittel um die Anwaltskosten und weitere Kosten decken zu können. Daher bitte ich euch: spendet (auch kleine Beträge helfen), leitet diesen Aufruf weiter und schreibt an helpforr ät riseup net falls ihr R. unterstützen möchtet.

<div>As I write this appeal, R. has already been in pre-trial detention for over one year and a half. There are people who repeatedly “slip through” the system—or whom society simply chooses not to engage with—because their situations are considered “too complicated,” or because the “resources” and “capacity” of the responsible professionals are said to be lacking.
</div>
<div>Unfortunately, this is exactly what has happened to R. — she received no help from the agencies that claimed to be responsible for her. In the following, I will try to outline what has happened and how you can support R.:
</div>
<div>I first met R. in 2022 at a regular meetup for queer refugees. R. told me about her everyday life as a trans* refugee, about her experiences in the shelter, the discrimination she faced on the job market, and about her wishes and hopes.
</div>
<div>In the fall of 2022, she told me several times about a case of severe police violence against her. Legally, there were no consequences for the officers involved — instead, she herself was punished (a €1,200 fine, plus being billed for cleaning the police vehicle). R. suffered serious injuries (pepper spray was sprayed into her eye at close range), which required medical treatment — expenses she also had to cover herself.
</div>
<div>R. identifies as Black and trans*, and she has been deeply traumatized and depressed by the incident. With coping mechanisms such as excessive drinking, she tried to deal with the aftereffects — but in doing so, she harmed herself and worsened her situation.
</div>
<div>A court-appointed guardian was assigned to help her — but according to R., this only made things worse, as the guardian failed to forward important bills and documents on time, and R. herself does not even have access to several essential papers.
</div>
<div>Her financial situation deteriorated to the point that she had no money left for food. At her place of residence, she had been on the waiting list for the local food bank for about two years, always ending up at the bottom of the hierarchy of need. I contacted the local Diakonie (church social service), but the caseworker there wanted written proof that R. had been a victim of police violence — something that was not apparent from the court judgment itself, as the ruling was very biased and focused solely on discrediting R. (“There was no reason for her aggressive behavior” — according to our client, the officers had referred to her in a demeaning way as a prostitute).
</div>
<div>At that time, and even since then, no organization or authority seems to have considered it necessary to document R.’s account, even though she described the events credibly and in detail.
</div>
<div>Today I spoke with R.’s lawyer on the phone. R. urgently needs funds to cover legal fees and other expenses. Therefore, I am asking you: please donate (even small amounts help), share this appeal, and write to helpforr (ät) riseup (punkt) net if you would like to support R.
