She made a tremendous impact on thousands of students, parents and teachers over the course of her long career as an educator, helping to guide children during the most important years of their developing lives. <div>For the past year, Jeana has been quietly struggling with a number of serious health issues and has been diagnosed with a blood cancer called Myelodysplastic Syndrome (MDS). Jeana has undergone multiple bone marrow biopsies, multiple blood transfusions, the removal of her gall bladder and the ablation of a kidney tumor. She is currently undergoing chemotherapy with a goal of preparing her blood for a bone marrow/stem cell transplant.

<div>Needless to say, this is a difficult and scary time for Jeana and her two amazing girls, Joanie and Claire. Given how much Jeana meant to our family, we desperately wanted to help her in a meaningful way.
