<div>Eine schwere COVID-Infektion hat ihr Leben komplett verändert. Aus der sportlichen, naturverbundenen jungen Frau, die joggen ging, beim Bouldern ihre Grenzen testete und ihre Liebe zu den Bergen lebte, wurde ein Mensch, der nun jeden Tag um die kleinsten Dinge kämpfen muss.

<div>Nach ihrer Erkrankung entwickelte sie Post-COVID. Dazu kamen die schweren Diagnosen ME/CFS (Myalgische Enzephalomyelitis/Chronisches Fatigue-Syndrom) und POTS (Posturales Tachykardie-Syndrom). Diese Krankheiten haben ihr alles genommen: ihre Kraft, ihre Selbstständigkeit, ihr altes Leben. Statt Gipfel zu erklimmen, kämpft sie nun mit extremer Erschöpfung, Schmerzen, Kreislaufproblemen und dem völligen Fehlen von Belastbarkeit.

<div>Sie lebt in einer nicht behindertengerechten Einzimmerwohnung, die ihre Situation noch schwieriger macht. Trotz ihres kritischen Zustands wird ihr von den Behörden und der Pflegekasse nicht die nötige Unterstützung gewährt – selbst ein Behindertengrad wurde bisher nicht anerkannt. Das wenige Geld, das sie hat, reicht gerade zum Überleben, aber nicht, um würdevoll und selbstbestimmt zu leben.

<div>Ein elektrischer Rollstuhl könnte ihr zumindest ein Stück Freiheit zurückgeben: die Möglichkeit, ihre Wohnung zu verlassen, wieder frische Luft zu schnappen und kleine Dinge selbstständig zu erledigen.

<div>Ihre Leidenschaft als Konditormeisterin, die ihr so viel Freude und Stolz gegeben hat, kann sie nicht mehr ausüben. Stattdessen ist sie auf Hilfe angewiesen – Hilfe, die wir als Familie alleine nicht tragen können.

<div>Imagine this: just a few years ago, my sister completed the Karwendel March – 52 kilometers through the mountains, full of strength, joy, and energy. Today, at only 28 years old, she depends on a wheelchair or walker and can’t even manage to read a book anymore.

<div>A severe COVID infection has completely changed her life. From a sporty, nature-loving young woman who loved jogging, bouldering, and hiking in the mountains, she has become someone who now struggles with even the smallest tasks.

<div>After her illness, she developed Post-COVID. On top of that came the devastating diagnoses of ME/CFS (Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome) and POTS (Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome). These illnesses have taken everything from her: her strength, her independence, her former life. Instead of climbing summits, she now battles extreme exhaustion, pain, circulatory problems, and a total lack of resilience.

<div>She currently lives in a non-accessible one-room apartment, which makes her situation even harder. Despite her critical condition, authorities and the care system do not provide her with the support she desperately needs – she hasn’t even been officially recognized as disabled. The little money she has barely covers survival, but not a dignified or self-determined life.

<div>An electric wheelchair could give her at least a small piece of freedom back: the chance to leave her apartment, breathe fresh air again, and regain a bit of independence.

<div>Her passion as a pastry chef, which once brought her so much joy and pride, is something she can no longer pursue. Instead, she now depends on help every single day – help that we as a family cannot provide alone.

<div>Após a doença, ela desenvolveu a Síndrome Pós-COVID. Essas doenças tiraram tudo dela: sua força, sua independência, sua antiga vida. Em vez de subir montanhas, ela agora enfrenta exaustão extrema, dores, problemas circulatórios e a completa falta de resistência.

<div>Atualmente, ela vive em um apartamento de um cômodo que não é adaptado, o que torna sua situação ainda mais difícil. O pouco dinheiro que recebe mal dá para sobreviver, mas não para viver com dignidade e autonomia.
