<div>Angel's family fled the violence in his home country, Honduras, when he was a small child and sought refuge in the USA. I had Angel as a middle school and high school student when I taught public school ESL. He graduated from high school last year and had been working to provide for his expectant girlfriend.

<div>However, Angel was detained by ICE back in May of 2025, and was held for almost 3 months before being deported to Honduras even though he was working through the immigration process legally and awaiting a decision from an immigration judge on his case.

<div>Though he is now in Honduras, he longs to be reunited with his hopefully soon-to-be wife and to be there to support her as she gives birth to their new baby girl in just over a week --- due date is early September.
</div>
