<div>Friday night, something incredible happened—my stepdad Jaime received the phone call he had been waiting for. After a long and difficult journey, he was finally matched with a kidney donor.

</div>

<div>For those who know Jaime, you know how strong, positive, and full of life he’s remained throughout this process. Despite undergoing dialysis three times a week, he never stopped being himself—always joking, smiling, and keeping everyone's spirits up.

<div>When that life-changing call came in, he and my mom rushed to San Antonio to be at the hospital by 8 PM. Since then, everything has gone smoothly. The surgery was a success, and Jaime is now slowly but steadily recovering.

<div>With everything happening so quickly, my mom and his son Mario have been traveling back and forth from home to the hospital to be by his side. It’s been a whirlwind—emotionally, physically, and financially.
