<div>Hello zusammen,

</div>

<div>(english below)

</div>

</div>

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

Ich habe mich nun dagegen entschieden, tatenlos in Deutschland rumzusitzen, denn: time is of the essence.

</div>

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

</div>

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>Danke für eure Unterstützung.

</div>

<div>Best,

</div>

</div>

<div>Hello everyone,

</div>

<div>As you’ve probably heard by now, Hurricane Melissa has caused catastrophic destruction, the images coming out of Jamaica speak for themselves. The government has declared the island a disaster area, and we have no choice but to take action.

</div>

<div>German media have unfortunately not reported on the situation in enough detail, which has been very disappointing to me. Because of that, I assume that there might be less mobilization for donations in German-speaking countries.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>Sadly, I lost contact with my family a few days ago. I had initially wanted to wait until they could tell me directly what kind of support locals truly need. That way, I could ensure more transparency about how donations are used. However, I have now decided that I can’t just sit here in Germany doing nothing, since time is of the essence. Everyone affected in Jamaica will need financial help in the coming days, weeks, and months — to rebuild their homes, communities, and infrastructure.

</div>

<div>Please be assured that all funds will go directly to supporting my family and on-the-ground organizations. Here’s a list of potential donation targets:
<a href="https://bio.site/walkgoodjamaica" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"><a href="https://bio.site/walkgoodjamaica" target="_blank" class="" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">https://bio.site/walkgoodjamaica</a></a>

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>Every contribution helps, no matter how big or small. And if you’re not able to donate right now, please share this money pool so more people can learn about it.

</div>

<div>My thoughts are with the people of Jamaica. With my family, their loved ones, and everyone affected.

</div>

<div>Thank you so much for your support.

</div>

<div>Best,

</div>

<div>Jodie
