 My name is Pedro (Peter), and I'm reaching out to ask for your help for my sister, Catarina, and her family during the most difficult time of their lives. Recently, Catarina received the news that no family ever wants to hear: she has breast cancer.

 Her initial diagnosis gave us hope. Doctors believed she would only need a lumpectomy followed by radiation treatments. However, just weeks later, everything changed. The cancer has proven to be far more aggressive than expected, and with less than a week's notice, she is now facing an urgent mastectomy. Depending on what surgeons find, she may also require reconstructive surgery, followed by months of chemotherapy and a long road to recovery.

 As if the emotional and physical toll wasn't enough, the financial burden has become overwhelming. Insurance is not covering all of the medical expenses, and Catarina has already been unable to work. She will be off work for several months as she undergoes treatment and focuses on healing.

 Catarina and her husband live a humble life just outside of Boston, where they are raising their two beautiful daughters. Right now, their only focus should be on her health and being together as a family—not worrying about how they will pay for medical bills and everyday expenses.
