My mother, Valerie Ahart (Dunn), was only 60 when she passed unexpectedly in Malvern, Arkansas. She was a retired nurse, a single mom, and my best friend. Due to suspicious circumstances, her body is being held at the Arkansas State Crime Lab, delaying the funeral. I’m her only child, living out of state, and I need help covering her burial and the travel costs to handle her affairs, and childcare costs for my three daughters. There is no burial insurance or otherwise. I just want to come home and lay my momma to rest with dignity.
My name is Mackenzie, and my heart is heavy as I write this. My mom, Valerie, passed away unexpectedly in Malvern, Arkansas on Tuesday August, 12, 2025.
She was a retired nurse with a Bachelor’s degree, a woman who dedicated her life to caring for others. She was also a single mom who worked tirelessly to give me every opportunity she could, even while facing her own battles with mental illness and the painful effects of lupus. Her kindness, resilience, and vibrant personality touched everyone who knew her.
She was found by paramedics after her heart life-monitor vest alerted them. Due to suspicious circumstances, her body is being held at the Arkansas State Crime Lab, and the investigation has delayed us from making burial arrangements. While we wait for answers, there is no insurance to bury her.
I am her only child, living out of state, and I will need to make multiple trips to Arkansas to handle everything, including travel, lodging, and legal matters on top of arranging her burial service and caring for my three daughters, 7 and 27 month old twins.
I’m asking for your help to cover:
Burial & funeral service,
Legal and administrative costs and the worst of all, unexpected expenses.
Our goal is what ive found to be the most reasonable, even with my own frugalities, but it will allow me to lay her to rest with dignity and take care of the responsibilities she left behind.
If you knew my mom, you know how much she gave of herself without expecting anything in return. If you didn’t know her, please know she was the kind of person who would have shown up for you in your time of need.
Any donation, no matter the size, will make a difference. If you cannot give, sharing this page would mean the world to me. Thank you for helping me honor her memory and laying her to rest. I have never asked for help before, and I just do not know what else to do.
I appreciate your kindness and just you reading this is helping honor her memory.
I love you always, Mommer!
Love,
Bubbles
