<div>As we mourn this heartbreaking loss, we are also celebrating a life beautifully lived. Her smile, her wisdom, her love, and her unwavering spirit will remain with us forever.

<div>Unfortunately, Joan did not have medical insurance, and the costs associated with her hospitalization and medical care have placed a significant financial burden on our family. We are reaching out to friends, former students, colleagues, and all those whose lives were touched by Joan to ask for help during this difficult time.
