<div>While Hilario and his brother were out doing landscaping work — the work they’ve done for years for countless Portland families and local businesses — ICE agents detained them without cause. Despite their documented legal status, they were denied due process and answers, and transferred to a detention center. Within 3 days, they were forcibly deported to Mexico.

<div>Hilario has lived and worked in the U.S. for years and was on the final steps toward becoming a U.S. citizen. Now, he’s been dropped in a country he hasn’t lived in for years, forced to start completely from scratch while his immigration lawyer fights to bring him &amp; his brother home through the courts — a process that will take at least 6-9 months, if not years.

<div>While he rebuilds his life and waits for the legal system to correct this injustice, Hilario cannot return to work in the US where his entire business was based.
