<div>This month, our dear friend Mark received news no one is ever prepared for. At just 52 years old, he has been diagnosed with stage 4 cancer of the liver and pelvis — a diagnosis that is unoperable and incurable.

<div>This news came after Mark had already fought — and beaten — stage 3 colorectal cancer just two years ago. He faced that battle with strength, humour, grit, and a quiet determination that those who know him will recognise instantly. Sadly, this time, the path ahead looks very different.

<div>Mark is many things. He is kind, funny, thoughtful, deeply caring, and endlessly generous with his time and heart. He also has a playful side — he often jokes that he’s a Viking at heart, going by his alter name Sigurd, a reflection of the warrior spirit he’s carried through every challenge life has thrown at him.

<div>But more than anything, Mark is a partner, a father, and a family man.
