<div>On May 26th, around midnight in Lorraine, Quebec, our sweet rescue dog Malice was hit by a car.

<div>The driver didn’t even stop.
</div>
<div>They left her there — injured and alone.
</div>

<div>Malice has already survived so much. When we rescued her just a few months ago, she had been abused, used for breeding, and passed around like she didn’t matter.

<div>She had never known safety or love until now.
</div>

<div>We promised her she’d never suffer again.
</div>
<div>And now, she’s fighting for her life — again.
</div>

<div>This morning, she finally received emergency medical care. The news was both reassuring and heartbreaking:

<div>Malice is stable for now.
</div>
<div>But one of her front legs is dead — she has no feeling or movement in it.
</div>
<div>She’ll need to see an orthopedic specialist.
</div>
<div>She has two options:
</div>
<div>1. A custom orthopedic splint (attelle)
</div>
<div>2. Or, if that doesn’t work, a full leg amputation
</div>

</div>
<div>Both options are extremely expensive.
</div>
<div>The vet was honest with us:
</div>
<div>Just the cost of the splint or the amputation starts at $5,000 — and that doesn’t include follow-up care, rehab, or specialist fees.

<div>We’re doing everything we can, but we can’t afford this on our own.

<div>Quand nous l’avons recueillie il y a quelques mois à peine, elle avait été battue, utilisée pour la reproduction, et baladée de foyer en foyer comme si elle ne comptait pas.

<div>Elle n’avait jamais connu la sécurité ou l’amour… jusqu’à maintenant.

<div>Nous lui avions promis qu’elle ne souffrirait plus jamais.

<div>Et aujourd’hui, elle se bat — une fois de plus — pour sa vie.

<div>Ce matin, elle a enfin pu recevoir des soins vétérinaires d’urgence.

<div>Le diagnostic est à la fois rassurant et déchirant :

<div>Malice est stable pour l’instant.
</div>
<div>Mais l’une de ses pattes avant est morte — elle n’a plus aucune sensation ni mouvement.

<div>Elle devra consulter un spécialiste en orthopédie.
</div>

<div>Deux options s’offrent à elle :

<div>	1.	Une attelle orthopédique sur mesure
</div>
<div>	2.	Ou, si cela ne fonctionne pas, une amputation complète de la patte

<div>Les deux options sont extrêmement coûteuses.
</div>
<div>Le vétérinaire a été très honnête avec nous :

<div>Rien que l’attelle ou l’amputation coûte un minimum de 5 000 $, sans compter les soins postopératoires, la réadaptation ou les consultations spécialisées.
