<div>Due to unforeseen health complications, our family is heartbroken to share that we must now lay our mother, April Nicole Thompson-Purnell, to rest. Many knew her as Nikki — the heart and backbone of our family. She was a devoted mother, wife, grandmother, sister, and friend who always put others before herself.

<div>April was the proud and loving mother of Rodney “Taiwan,” Rashon, Ravonn, Justin, and Brandon. To each of us, she was more than a mother — she was our safe place, our strength, and our guiding light.

<div>After losing one of her children, Rashon, our mom stepped in without hesitation to help raise his children and continue his legacy. When I (Justin) lost the mother of my twins, she became my rock — guiding me through grief and being a loving, devoted grandmother to my daughters.
</div>

<div>Sadly, after enduring so much loss and hardship — including losing her job — my mother’s health began to decline in ways we didn’t realize. She was the strongest woman we knew, and we all believed she was okay… until she wasn’t.
</div>

<div>Now, with her passing and the loss of her life insurance through work, <strong>we are facing the painful reality of planning her burial without the resources she once had.</strong> We’re asking for your kindness, compassion, and support to help us give our mother the peaceful farewell she truly deserves.
