<div>Meet our friend and collaborator, Tittel del Mar, an artist, educator, community organizer, cultural worker, carpenter and goddess in Curacao

<div>In May, Tittel thought she was waiting for a (fairly) routine ovarian-cyst removal, but things quicky took a turn leaving her little choice but to undergo a hysterotomy in early June. If that wasn't challenging enough, a few days later there were post op complications that led to her needing a second, emergency, surgery that have now turned the usual 2-month recovery time, into a much longer 4 to 6 months. During this period, besides needing massive amounts of rest, she will not be allowed to lift anything heavy or be on her feet for long. Meaning she will not be able to return to her parttime carpentry job for the foreseeable future.

<div>We are so thankful that Tittel has made it home safe with her friends and family there to provide her the care she needs to get her strength back. We are putting together this fund to support her financially so she can focus on the healing and hopefully get back to building, lifting, hosting amazing art and educational events, and (importantly) swimming in the sea asap!

<div>Dit is onze vriendin en collega, Tittel del Mar, kunstenaar, docent, cultureel werker, houtwerker en godin op Curaçao.

<div>In mei dacht Tittel dat er bij haar een (vrij) routinematige verwijdering van een cyste zou plaatsvinden, maar al snel veranderde de situatie en begin juni moest ze een hysterotomie ondergaan. Alsof dat niet zwaar genoeg was, kreeg ze een paar dagen na de operatie complicaties, waardoor ze een tweede spoedoperatie nodig had. Hierdoor is de gebruikelijke herstelperiode van twee maanden nu veel langer: vier tot zes maanden. In deze periode zal ze, naast de vele rust die ze nodig heeft, niets zwaars mogen tillen of lang op haar benen kunnen staan. Dit betekent dat ze voorlopig niet terug kan keren naar haar parttime timmerwerk.

<div>We zijn heel dankbaar dat Tittel veilig thuis is en dat haar vrienden en familie haar de zorg geven die ze nodig heeft om weer op krachten te komen. We zetten dit fonds samen op, om haar financieel te ondersteunen, zodat ze zich kan concentreren op haar herstel en hopelijk zo snel mogelijk weer kan bouwen, tillen en fantastische kunst- en educatieve events kan organiseren, en (belangrijk) weer in de zee kan zwemmen!
