<div>I never imagined I would be writing something like this.
</div>
<div>At just 31 years old, my life changed in an instant when I was diagnosed with Stage II cervical cancer.
</div>

</div>
<div>Instead of focusing on the future I had been building, I am now preparing for chemotherapy, radiation, countless appointments, and a journey that has completely changed my life.
</div>

<div>While I am incredibly grateful to have a treatment plan that gives me hope, this diagnosis has brought some of the most difficult decisions and emotions I have ever faced. One of the most heartbreaking parts of this journey has been learning that the treatment needed to save my life may take away my ability to carry a pregnancy in the future.

<div>Before treatment begins, I have a very small window of time to undergo fertility preservation through egg retrieval. This means hormone injections, medications, frequent monitoring appointments, an egg retrieval procedure, and long-term storage. This process gives me the opportunity to preserve the possibility of having biological children one day.. a future I always dreamed of having.

<div>Trying to make these life-changing decisions while processing a cancer diagnosis has been incredibly overwhelming, both emotionally and financially.
</div>
<div>Cancer doesn’t only affect your health. It impacts every part of your life.
</div>

<div>I work in hospitality, and like many people in this industry, I am paid hourly and do not have employer health benefits or paid medical leave. During treatment and recovery, I will not be able to work at my normal capacity, which means losing a significant amount of income while facing increased expenses.
</div>

</div>
<div>Right now, my biggest goal is to focus on healing. I want to put all of my energy into getting through treatment, taking care of my body, and giving myself the best chance at recovery without the constant fear of how I will manage financially.
</div>

<div>The funds raised will help me cover:

<li>Fertility preservation: medications, monitoring appointments, egg retrieval, and storage.
</li>
<li>Cancer treatment and medical support: medications, prescriptions, vitamins, supplements, supportive therapies, and expenses not covered by OHIP.
</li>
<li>Transportation and treatment-related costs: commuting to appointments, hospital parking, gas, and travel expenses.
</li>
<li>Essential living expenses: rent, car expenses, phone, groceries, and household necessities while I am unable to work.
</li>
<li>Lost income: while I undergo treatment and recovery.
</li>
<li>Unexpected expenses: additional medical, recovery, and personal support needs that may come along the way.

<div>My goal is to raise $90,000 CAD to help provide stability during the next chapter of my life. This support would allow me to focus on what matters most: fighting this cancer, healing, and rebuilding my future.

<div>Asking for help is one of the hardest things I have ever had to do. I have always been someone who wants to take care of myself and be the person others can rely on. But right now, I need to allow the people around me to help carry some of this weight.
