<div>My name is <strong>Thierry André</strong>. I'm a guitar-maker from Quebec, Canada. I'm also a dad; my daughter Clara is now 7 years old. Regarding my cancer, I told her everything was going to be alright, and that's one of the reasons I'm running this GoFundMe campaign.

<div>My situation in brief:

<div>I was diagnosed with <strong>metastatic cancer </strong>eight months ago. Honestly, I was close to death and very scared. The doctors wanted to give me an estimate of how long I had left, which I refused; because in my mind, I was going to survive.

</div>
<div>I'm glad I stayed positive. <strong>As of today, with the help of chemotherapy and natural treatments, my tumor has shrunk by 35% and my metastases have decreased.</strong> I see the light at the end of the tunnel… Although I still have at least <strong>12 months of chemotherapy ahead of me</strong>, I am (as is my daughter) very encouraged by my progress.

<div>Building a successful career in instrument making has always required 12-hour workdays, a clear head, and an unwavering vision of success.

<div>My current reality, for months now and for the next year, is that with the side effects of chemotherapy, it's simply impossible to maintain the same work rhythm. That's why I'm seeking this external and financial support to help me recover physically and transition back to my usual work schedule.

<div>The situation is quite urgent because I risk losing my workshop if I don't take action; as a craftsperson, I'm not eligible for income protection insurance or anything like that.

<div>Je m'appelle <strong>Thierry André</strong>. Je suis luthier au Québec, au Canada. Je suis aussi un papa, ma fille Clara a maintenant 7 ans. À propos de mon cancer je lui ai dis que tout allais bien aller, et c'est une des raisons pourquoi je fais cette campagne GoFundMe.

<div>J’ai reçu un diagnostique de cancer avec metastases il y a huit mois. Honnêtement, j’ai frôlé la mort et eu très peur. Les médecins voulaient me donner un estimé du temps qu'il me restait, ce que j'ai refusé ; Car dans ma tête j’allais survivre.

<div>J’ai bien fait de penser positivement. En date d’aujourd’hui, à l’aide de la chimiothérapie et de traitements naturels, j’ai une réduction de 35% de ma tumeur et une diminution de mes métastases. Je vois la lumière… Bien que j’en ai encore pour 12 mois minimum avec la chimiothérapie, je suis (tout comme ma fille) très encouragé de ma progression.

<div><strong>Cancer, travail, et finances:</strong>

<div>Réussir une carrière en lutherie, m’a toujours demandé du 12h de travail par jours, une tête clair et une vision de succès inébranlable.
</div>

<div>Ma réalité présente, depuis des mois et pour un an à venir, et qu’avec les effets secondaires de la chimiothérapie, c’est carrément impossible d’avoir le même rythme de travail. Pour ça je vise le présent support externe et financier, pour m’aider à récupérer physiquement et faire la transition vers retrouver mon rythme de travail habituel.

<div>La situation est assez pressante car je risque de perdre mon atelier si je ne fais rien ; Comme artisan je ne suis pas éligible à une assurance salaire ou autre.
