While tourists provide food during the busy summer months, those food sources disappear once the holiday season ends. Winter is especially difficult, with too little food to sustain the ever-growing stray population. On top of that, countless animals suffer from disease, injuries, traffic accidents and the lack of accessible veterinary care. Without sufficient funding, the cycle continues.
