<div>A few weeks ago, <strong>my cousin suddenly fell gravely ill and was diagnosed with encephalitis, a serious inflammation of the brain. </strong>It started with convulsions and stroke-like episodes that left him disoriented and in pain. As his condition worsened, he began attacking others and himself.

<div>Since then, his condition has deteriorated. He is now in the ICU, <strong>connected to an artificial respirator</strong> to help him breathe. He <strong>cannot move or speak, and he is fed through tubes </strong>because he can no longer eat on his own. The only movement he can manage is to open his eyes, a small but powerful reminder that he’s still fighting.

<div>His family is doing everything they can, but the medical costs are overwhelming. They live on a very limited income and cannot afford the growing expenses for his hospital stay, medications, and critical care. <strong>Every day in the ICU is expensive, and his treatment is expected to take a long time before he can begin recovery.</strong>
