<div>Matt is a 36-year-old partner, dad, and all-round great guy from Helensburgh. If you know him, you know he’s the kind of person who would give you the shirt off his back, no questions asked. Quietly humble, selfless, generous, never one to ask for help.

<div><strong>The Story So Far…</strong>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Early last year, life changed in an instant when Matt was diagnosed with advanced stage 3 colon cancer. What followed was a whirlwind no one could have prepared for:
</div>

</div>

<li>February 2024 – Diagnosed with advanced stage 3 colon cancer
</li>
<li>March 2024 – Underwent major colon resection surgery
</li>
<li>May 6th 2024 – Began chemotherapy
</li>
<li>May 7th 2024 (2:39am) – Georgi went into labour
</li>
<li>May 8th 2024 (3:58am) – Baby Daisy was born while Matt was still receiving chemo through his port

<div>If you’re doing the math… Matt started chemotherapy the day before his daughter was born.
</div>

</div>
<div>For the next six months, he underwent treatment every two weeks while navigating brand-new parenthood. He couldn’t kiss Georgi. He couldn’t hold Daisy close. He couldn’t even sleep in the same bed. Instead, he showed up for his family the only way he could, with quiet strength and relentless love...enduring the pain, the exhaustion, and the heartache with his determination.

<div>By October, he’d completed chemo. By November, he started easing back into work. By January 2025, he was finally full-time again, rebuilding a life he’d fought so hard to return to.
</div>

</div>
<div>And then, the unthinkable.
</div>

<div><strong>May 2025: The Cancer Returned</strong>
</div>
<div><strong>Matt has now been diagnosed with Stage 4 Peritoneal Cancer.</strong>
</div>

</div>
<div>The cancer has spread aggressively. It’s fast, and it’s serious. The treatment plan is intensive and confronting:

</div>

<li>6+ months of chemotherapy, starting next week
</li>
<li>If well enough, Matt will undergo a Peritonectomy, a high-risk, 12-hour surgery involving multiple organs, followed by weeks in ICU and hospital recovery
</li>
</ul>

<div>It’s a lot.
</div>
<div>It’s terrifying.
</div>
<div>And it’s going to be the fight of their lives.
</div>

<div><strong>Why We’re Asking for Help</strong>

<div>Matt has now had to step away from work to begin treatment again, and with that comes the devastating reality of lost income.
