Quiero compartir una pequeña actualización: Nuestro papá comenzó la quimioterapia esta semana y, gracias a su apoyo, hemos podido seguir adelante con su tratamiento. Él tiene mucha fuerza de voluntad y ya se está recuperando de la primera sesión. Estamos profundamente agradecidos por todo lo que han hecho por nosotros en este momento tan difícil.

<div>Our heart is breaking as my brothers and myself write this. My dad, Freddy AKA Pato, is 70 years old and was recently diagnosed with epithelial throat cancer. This news shattered our world—we never imagined we’d face something like this.

<div>Our dad is our hero. He’s not just an amazing father to us and a loving grandfather to his grandchildren—he’s also the most devoted son. Every single day, even when he’s tired or in pain, he visits my 98-year-old grandmother at her nursing home. She depends on him completely, and no matter how weak he feels, he always finds the strength to bring her comfort and make her smile.

<div>Anyone who has ever met our dad knows his light. He’s the one filling every room with laughter. He’s funny, kind, selfless, and has a big heart. He has always been full of life—and we refuse to let this disease take that away.

<div>But the reality is heartbreaking. In Bolivia, where he lives, there’s no insurance, no financial safety net. Every treatment, every round of chemotherapy and radiotherapy, must be paid for in cash. My family is doing everything humanly possible, but the cost is overwhelming and far beyond what we can cover alone.

<div>We are desperately asking for help to save our dad’s life. We need him here with us. We need his hugs, his jokes, his wisdom—for many more years. Our children need their grandfather. My grandmother needs her son. We all need him.

Mi familia está haciendo todo lo humanamente posible, pero el costo es abrumador y muy superior a lo que podemos cubrir solos.
