<div>A year ago, my oldest son was diagnosed with a rare genetic disease X- Linked  adrenoleukodystrophy,  that attacks the nervous system and muscles, slowly leading to paralysis and, heartbreakingly, a fatal outcome. After months of hospitals, tests, and uncertainty, we finally got this devastating diagnosis only recently.

<div>Now, my younger son — just 24 years old, a brilliant student who recently graduated in Economic Informatics with top honors — is showing signs that he may be affected as well. He has been working hard to support our family while I stay at home caring for his older brother.

<div>Unfortunately, <strong>this disease cannot be treated in Albania.</strong> The only hope for my younger son — and potentially to slow or treat my oldest son — lies in specialized clinics abroad, where advanced treatments like stem cell therapy or gene therapy are available. But the costs are overwhelming and far beyond our family's means.
