<div>Hello my name is Pamela Veater, and I’m writing on behalf of Ryan Veater my strong and kind son whose life changed overnight.

<div>In February, Ryan was in a serious car accident — which caused significant chest pains and what started as a routine trip to the ER turned into something far serious when doctors unexpectedly discovered a tumor on his thymus gland. What followed was a whirlwind of PET scans, CT scans, MRIs, ultrasounds, and blood tests, and, on April 14, major surgery to remove a cantaloupe-sized tumor from his chest.

<div>Although the surgery was successful, Ryan soon experienced severe breathing problems. After two frightening weeks and a ER visit, he was rushed to the hospital again on April 28 and admitted to the Cardiovascular ICU.
</div>

</div>
<div>Over the next two weeks, Ryan nearly lost his life—twice. He was intubated and sedated for 9 days. On May 17, he had a successful tracheostomy, which finally allowed him to breathe with assistance and begin the process of healing.
</div>

</div>
<div>Ryan has now spent 5 weeks in the CVICU and will be transferred to a long-term ICU care facility soon, before he can return home. His recovery will be long and difficult, and he is facing additional surgeries ahead—including removal of his cancerous thyroid.
</div>

<div>The emotional, physical, and financial toll has been overwhelming. We’re raising funds to help cover his medical bills, rehabilitation, and living expenses as he continues this fight.
