<div>Ryan Connor and Briana Connor Garcia grew up in the neighborhoods surrounding the Sutton Brook Superfund Site in Tewksbury, MA. For decades, their family and neighbors unknowingly consumed contaminated municipal well water, exposing them to PFAS, VOCs, PCBs, and heavy metals. The health impacts have been profound and lasting—Ryan was diagnosed with renal cell carcinoma at a young age, while Briana was diagnosed with thyroid cancer and systemic scleroderma. Both continue to show concerning levels of PFAS in their blood, even years after leaving the area. Briana, in particular, suffers daily from the long-term effects of exposure, experiencing constant pain and unable to eat or drink without severe symptoms. Their story is not unique; many in their community have faced rare and early-onset illnesses, and only recently has the true scope of exposure come to light.

Insurance does not cover alternative approaches, leaving them without access to the care they need. The costs for these treatments are significant and entirely out-of-pocket, creating a major barrier to their recovery.
