<div>I’m reaching out with a heavy heart as my hometown of Cebu, Philippines has been devastated by a powerful 6.9 magnitude earthquake on September 30, 2025. As someone originally from this province, the pain and destruction hit close to home.

</div>

<div>The impact has been catastrophic:

</div>

<ul>

<li>69 lives lost, with 147 injured, a lot still unaccounted for

</li>

<li>₱2 billion in damages to homes, buildings, and vital infrastructure

</li>

<li>Families left without shelter, clean water, or even a safe place to sleep

</li>

<li>Volunteers risking their lives to rescue those trapped under collapsed buildings

</li>

</ul>

<div>The image I’ve attached shows the heartbreaking reality: destroyed homes, makeshift shelters, people gathering water from the shore, and rescue teams working tirelessly amid the rubble. It’s a glimpse into the suffering and resilience of the people of Cebu.
