<div>We’re writing to you today with full hearts and open hands—on behalf of our dear friend, brother and soul-companion, Patrick Numair. Just a few weeks ago, Patrick was DJ’ing​, producing music and co-stewarding their land based housing cooperative, Landwell. Seemingly overnight, he's received a Stage 4 rectal cancer diagnosis with metastases in his liver and tailbone. The shift has been sudden and seismic.

<div>Patrick​ and Sorah ​are approaching this diagnosis with extraordinary honesty and courage. At the same time, it’s upended every aspect of their lives. Patrick’s doctors have him unable to work for a minimum 9 months while he undergoes a series of chemo, radiation &amp; surgery treatments to save his life. Patrick has had to cancel 100% of his work for the next 9 months, a net loss so far of $70,000.

<div>As a self-employed owner of a successful business, Patrick was devastated to discover he’s not eligible to receive any state disability (SDI) that regular w2 employees have access to. This is a big blow. Their family has 3 months emergency savings, but not enough to weather a full 9 months without his income. As friends and chosen family, we want to help lift some of the burden so Patrick can focus on what matters most: resting and strengthening, to heal this life threatening challenge.
