<div>Parrotland was opened in June 2018, by Thorkild Lorenzen.

<div>It was the old school in Ballum near Bredebro in Denmark, that was rebuilt so that there was room for the 40 birds he started with at the time.

<div>This was the first place in Denmark where you could get so close to parrots.
</div>

<div>Close by in the form of being able to have them sitting on you and feeding them nuts and feed mixture, which you are given at the entrance.
</div>

<div>Thorkild got the inspiration from Poland, where he had been visiting to experience the concept of a "parrotland".
</div>

<div>Parrot Land was created for the target group: "People of all ages".
</div>
<div>And we really have people of all ages visiting. Among other things, we have had visits from children's groups, school classes and various clubs for adults and older people.
</div>

</div>
<div>At the end of 2022, Parrotland was acquired by Tom Roger Lehn. He is Norwegian and lives in Norway.
</div>
<div>The staff stayed the same and are in charge of the daily management. They do everything possible to care for the parrots, train them, and attract visitors.
</div>

<div>One of the many tasks for the new team was to find a new place where the small business could move to, due to the fact that the old school building in Ballum was going to be demolished in the summer of 2024.
</div>

</div>
<div>The new location became Åbøl, right next to highway 25. Here we found a suitable building, with high ceilings. The space was a little smaller than we were used to and the fixed expenses much higher, but with all the support from you visitors and donaters, we believe in a prosperous future in Åbøl.
