<div>My name is Jeremy. I’m an Australian wildlife filmmaker, and for the past five years I’ve been documenting one of the most extraordinary animals on Earth - the superb lyrebird.

<div>Those videos have reached hundreds of millions of people but I’ve always felt like they only tell part of the story.

<div>This year, I’m creating<strong> my first feature-length film</strong> to finally capture the whole story.

<div><strong>THE CONCEPT:</strong>
</div>

<div>For 50 days, I’ll immerse myself in the forest, to document the secret lives of lyrebirds.
</div>
<div>With the use of remote cameras, I’ll capture their natural behaviours, without the human disturbance that often comes with filming wildlife.
</div>
<div>As we witness the lyrebirds’ extraordinary courtship displays, the film will widen its lens to explore the fragile ecosystem that they shape and depend on.
</div>

<div>Along the way, it will confront the growing pressures in the forest - introduced species like foxes, cats and deer, and the complex impact of human presence.

<div><strong>A UNIQUE SETUP:</strong>

<div>Whilst other films have used trail cameras to record lyrebirds' intimate courtship displays, I believe that these devices fall short when it comes to capturing all of the intricacies of a lyrebird's performance, especially when it comes to the sound.

<div>I've devised a strategy that will use cinema cameras and studio microphones to capture the lyrebird in the most immersive way possible - as if you were really there.
</div>
<div>Each morning, before the sun rises, I'll deploy cameras at multiple lyrebird mounds and leave them recording throughout the day.
</div>

<div><strong>WHY I NEED YOUR HELP:</strong>

<div>Making a film is expensive, especially when you're doing it on your own.
</div>

<div>Here's a summary of the expenses that I need to cover:

<li><strong>Living costs</strong> - enables 50 days of dedicated time in the forest to fulfil the experiment and a further 9 months to edit the film.
</li>
<li><strong>Equipment</strong> - cameras, microphones, tripods, memory cards, cables, external recorders, hard drives, power banks etc.

<li><strong>Support crew</strong> - wages for a cinematographer to document the process and/or an assistant to help manage multiple cameras.
</li>
<li><strong>Insurance</strong> - protects crew and vital for obtaining the filming permit.
</li>
<li><strong>Permits</strong> - required approvals to film wildlife and protected areas responsibly.
</li>
<li><strong>Post production</strong> - sound design, colour grading, mixing etc.
