<div>Christine and Kenny Smith’s dog Malibu is more than just a pet—she’s an inspiration to thousands as the heart behind the popular 'Malibu’s Mama' social media account. Malibu’s journey began with hardship: she was rescued, then abandoned by a defunct rescue group, and labeled as aggressive. But Christine saw her potential and devoted months to patiently walking and earning Malibu’s trust. Eventually, Christine brought Malibu home, and since then, Malibu has gone from abandoned to adored, capturing the hearts of everyone she meets. With over 34,000 followers, Malibu’s story of resilience and love has touched people far and wide.

<div>Recently, Malibu suffered a sudden injury. She yelped, began limping, and within two days, she couldn’t walk. <div>Christine and Kenny rushed her to the Phoenix Specialty hospital, where an MRI revealed Intervertebral disc disease (IVDD). Despite the hospital being booked solid, the team scheduled urgent surgery because Malibu’s case was so severe. Today, Malibu is recovering from her operation, and the specialty vet is optimistic—she has a 90-95% chance to walk again with physical therapy. It’s heartbreaking for Christine and Kenny to see Malibu alone at the vet; they have never spent a night away from her, but they know she’s in good hands and are doing everything possible to support her recovery.

<div>Christine and Kenny have always been there for others, quietly helping their community and volunteering with The Little Red Dog rescue. They have pet insurance, but as many know, it only covers a portion of the costs, and the expenses for Malibu’s care, surgery, and travel have quickly added up. They would never ask for help themselves, but now they need support. Please consider helping Malibu get the care she needs to return to her happy, adventurous life. Your generosity will make a world of difference for this special family.
