<div>There are moments in life that reveal just how deeply human beings are capable of loving one another.

<div>This past year has been one of those moments for me.
</div>

<div>When I look back over the last nine months, I don’t just remember hospitals, infusion chairs, blood draws, and scans. I remember every hand that reached toward me when I needed one.

<div>You prayed for me.
</div>

<div>Immunotherapy has been an incredible gift. My hair has begun to grow back, slowly and stubbornly, and every new curl feels like a quiet promise that my body is still trying.

<div>I still have a long road ahead of me.
</div>

<div>The cancer has not disappeared. I continue to live with metastatic spots throughout my body, and with them comes the pain that many of you know has become part of my daily life. My current treatment plan includes at least two more years of immunotherapy, and I carry the hope that somewhere at the end of this chapter I will finally hear the word remission.

</div>
<div>This month brings another season of testing. I will undergo fertility assessments, full body MRIs with contrast, and what feels like countless vials of blood as my doctors continue mapping out the road ahead. Some of these tests and scans, particularly portions of the fertility workup, are not covered by my insurance, but they are important in helping us understand what my future may hold.

<div>I try very hard to make the most of every day I am given.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Some days that means creating, writing, wandering somewhere beautiful, spending time with the people I love, and soaking in the ordinary moments that once felt so far away.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Other days, making the most of the day simply means allowing my body to rest. Some days healing looks like sleeping. Sometimes the only movement I manage is from my bed to the couch and back again.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>I have learned that those days count too.
</div>

</div>
<div>This past week has carried a great deal of anxiety and grief.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>For so many months, survival left little room to process what was happening to me. Every ounce of energy went toward getting through the next appointment, the next infusion, the next scan.
</div>

</div>
<div>Now that life has grown just a little quieter, my heart has begun catching up with everything these last nine months have held.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>I suppose that is the strange thing about surviving. Sometimes the grief waits until you are finally safe enough to feel it.
</div>

</div>
<div>Even so, I remain profoundly hopeful.
</div>

</div>
<div>Hope isn’t always loud. Sometimes it is as quiet as new hair growing in. Sometimes it is taking another walk. Sometimes it is showing up for another infusion. Sometimes it is believing there are still beautiful things waiting for you on the other side of all of this.

<div>Lexi was recently diagnosed with Stage 4, Small Cell Cancer, an aggressive and rare form that’s turned her world upside down. A new scan has confirmed it is in her cervix and her lungs.

<div>Just weeks ago, Lexi was living her normal life, working hard, creating art, and caring for her beloved dog, Sisko, when everything changed almost overnight. Now she’s facing a fight that no one is ever ready for, and she needs the support of her community to help carry her through the months ahead.

<div><strong>Where We Need To Go</strong>

<div>Lexi’s next steps include beginning treatment following her PET scan results, managing ongoing care, medications, and hospital visits, and keeping up with daily living costs while she’s unable to work. She also faces future medical bills that insurance won’t cover, along with the cost of transportation to and from appointments, and ensuring she and her dog have everything they need for comfort and stability during this time.

<div><strong>Immediate Needs &amp; Costs</strong>

<div>Lexi has been unable to work for the past several weeks due to symptoms, appointments, and procedures. Her cell phone, car insurance, school payments, car payment, and basic living expenses, groceries, gas, dog food, and personal items, are all now coming due.
</div>
<div>Every dollar donated right now helps her stay afloat while she focuses on her health and the next steps in her journey.
</div>

<div><strong>Future Exspenses</strong>
</div>
<div>Looking ahead, Lexi will face medical bills that insurance won’t fully cover, along with expenses for ongoing treatments, prescriptions, and follow-up scans. Thankfully, she’s able to move in with her mom Tracie’s parents, which will help reduce housing costs. Even with that support, there’s still a significant financial gap as her treatment begins, one that this campaign hopes to help close.

<div>Lexi’s treatment and recovery time have now been updated as wait and see. The PET scan has found a hot spot in her lungs, and they are now treating it as stage 4. We’ve set a goal of $50,000 to help cover medical costs, travel, medications, and daily living expenses while she focuses on healing. Any amount helps lighten her load and means the world to us.

<div>Mondays will be a mixture of 4 different drugs for 5 hours

<div>Tuesday , Wednesday, Thursday one drug will be administered for 90 minutes each day.

<div>She will get this treatment for 8 weeks in a row.
</div>
<div>Currently They are going to treat her for Stage 4 as they found a hot spot in her lungs.
</div>
<div>At this time, since they are treating for stage 4 they will not being doing any radiation, or a hysterectomy.

<div><strong>A Story From Dad</strong>

<div>Anyone who knows Lexi knows she was born to be an actress, a storyteller, and a writer. I remember going to White Water, our local water park, when she was about 10 years old. She wanted to go down a waterslide, so I went with her. She went first, and then did the most young Lexi thing ever. She decided to reenact a drowning scene from a movie.

<div>From the top of the slide, I realized what she was doing and prayed she’d stop quickly, but in true Lexi fashion, she was very convincing. So convincing that the lifeguard jumped in to ‘save’ her. I met them at the bottom, and we all ended up walking to the office to file an incident report. Honestly, it’s a testament to her acting skills that it all went down the way it did!”

<div><strong>A Story From Mom</strong>

<div>When Lexi was about four years old, my grandma, her great-grandma, or “GG” as we called her, used to watch her while I was at work. GG had a tendency to nod off unexpectedly for short naps, and one day during one of those little naps, Lexi decided to take matters into her own hands.

<div>She picked up the phone, dialed 911, and told the operator, “Help, my GG turned into a zombie!”, then promptly hung up.
</div>
<div>Of course, the 911 operator called back, which startled GG awake. When she answered, she had no idea what was going on until she learned what Lexi had done. Needless to say, Lexi always kept us on our toes and laughing with her wild imagination.

<div>Growing up, we were inseparable running wild every summer, attached at the hip. We’d eat honeysuckles in our grandma’s backyard, and while she always had her nose buried in a book, she somehow found ways to pull me into her world too, either by making me read alongside her or by spinning wild stories that only she could dream up. I’ll never forget one summer she convinced me that if a fly ate paint it would double in size. Let’s just say, while we painted outside, I happily served as her personal fly swatter out of pure fear (and maybe a little sisterly loyalty)

<div>Right now, we don’t know exactly how long this road will be. Doctors estimate that treatment could last up to 24 months. What we do know is that Lexi won’t be able to work during much of that time, and the bills of everyday life don’t pause for cancer.

A myriad of moments I felt were certainties. My plans were stitched with magic, ambition, and an unrelenting belief in what was coming next.

<div>Then everything shifted. A pain that seemed like exhaustion became scans, a diagnosis, and now the first surgery. I’ve learned I’m facing small cell cervical cancer, and my new reality is one of concurrent chemo and radiation treatments.
