For others, sensory challenges, trauma, social pressures, or repeated experiences of failure have led them to disengage from education altogether. Many families find themselves searching for a school where their child feels safe, understood, and able to succeed.

<div>Southern Skies Montessori is being created for these young people.

<div>We are establishing a fee-free Montessori Special Assistance School on Queensland's Sunshine Coast for students aged 9–15 who have become disengaged from mainstream education due to anxiety, school refusal, neurodivergence, trauma, or other challenges.

<div>Our mission is simple: to create a place where young people can reconnect with learning, rebuild confidence, and rediscover hope.

<div>My colleague Naomi and I have dedicated our lives to education. We have seen firsthand that many young people struggle not because they lack ability, but because the educational environment is not meeting their needs.
