My colleagues (Daniel Oxendine, Dominque Burleson, Unmai Malcolm-Arokiasamy, and Terry Beyer) and I have created Red Threads: A MMIWG2S Database, a nonprofit initiative to honor and share the stories of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and Two-Spirit people (MMIWG2S) — particularly in the Southeast, where these stories too often go unseen and unrecorded.

<div>We aim to honor and share the stories of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and Two-Spirit people by building an inclusive digital archive that keeps their memories alive, raises awareness, and supports advocacy.

<div>This work is rooted in love, accountability, and the urgent need for visibility. Indigenous families in the Southeast—and across Turtle Island—deserve to have their loved ones’ stories documented, remembered, and fought for. This project is about remembrance, truth-telling, and justice.

<div>To make this vision real, we’re asking for your support to raise $1,097 — the amount needed to officially establish Red Threads as a legal nonprofit organization.
