<div>My name is Melanie Hackman, and I’ve dedicated 20 years to supporting individuals with special needs as an instructional aide, a special education teacher, and an advocate. It has long been my dream to create a community-based day program that offers meaningful support and enriching opportunities for adults with special needs.

<div>For the past eight months, I’ve been actively planning the launch of this program, and I couldn’t be more excited. There is a critical shortage of programs and resources in our area, including Pasadena and Altadena, and <strong>I am committed to helping fill that gap.</strong> Many families struggle to find the support their loved ones need to continue thriving in a social environment after aging out of the school system.

<div><strong>Funds raised will go toward completing the legal requirements to establish the program and purchasing a van to transport a group of 8–10 participants, </strong>with plans to expand in the future. I already have the support and commitment of over 10 families ready to take the first steps in this journey with me. With many more waiting for a spot.
