<div>Despite the shared goal of advancing knowledge and information through public media, the state legislature chose to defund Indiana Public Broadcasting Stations, Inc. (IPBS) in the 2025 biennial budget, allocating $3.6 million per year in annual funding, in addition to federal funding reductions.

<div>Today, this resulted in the layoffs of at least eight reporters across the state, including statehouse reporters, environmental reporters, labor reporters, digital editors, managing editors, videographers, news editors, and health reporters.
