<div>For nearly 20 years, Ken Fredgren has been a quiet force for good in Northern Virginia. Now 86 and living with advanced Post-Polio Syndrome, he devoted his life to making our community more  accessible, compassionate, and just.
</div>

<div>A Legacy of Service
</div>
<div>17 years leading the Reston Accessibility Committee. He works with businesses, the Reston Association, and RAC’s Accessibility Assessment Team across Reston to remove barriers and promote dignity and independence for all.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>11 years supporting the Student Peace Awards of Fairfax County, formerly serving as SPA’s representative to Herndon High School and now serving as the sponsor outreach representative.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>12 years co-coordinating the monthly Prayer Vigil for Peace, Life, and Justice at St. John Neumann parish in Reston.
</div>

<div>Why Ken Needs Us Now
</div>
<div><strong>Ken’s health has declined, and he now requires full-time assisted living in a licensed accessible facility.</strong> His savings are nearly exhausted, and without support, he faces losing the safe housing he depends on. Asking for help is difficult for him—but the need is urgent.

<div>We’re raising $75,000 to keep Ken in his current moderate, safe, dignified housing with the accessibility features he needs. This gives us the runway to secure a long-term, affordable housing solution that meets his medical and mobility needs. Qualified facilities have long waiting lists, necessitating continued support for Ken’s current housing in the interim.
