<div>Hi, my name is Alex, and I’m organizing this fundraiser to support my dear friend Rafael, who is currently fighting for his life.

<div>Our hearts were broken when, in early January of this year, Rafael was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer. He had traveled with his wife and their three beautiful children—ages two, four, and six—for what was supposed to be their first family vacation in Bogotá, Colombia. Tragically, the trip turned into a nightmare when Rafael became too ill to board his return flight to Toronto, Canada.

<div>He remained in Colombia for several months receiving treatment, far from the comforts of home. Although he has finally made it back to Toronto, he is still hospitalized and in critical condition.

<div>We are hoping to raise as much as we can to support Rafael’s family during this incredibly difficult time. As he is unable to work, his family is left without financial support and facing mounting expenses.

<div>All donations will go directly to Rafael’s wife, Luisa Fernanda, to help cover essential costs and care for their young children.

<div>Nuestros corazones se rompieron cuando, a principios de enero de este año, a Rafael le diagnosticaron cáncer de colon en etapa 4. Había viajado con su esposa y sus tres hermosos hijos —de dos, cuatro y seis años— para disfrutar de sus primeras vacaciones familiares en Bogotá, Colombia. Trágicamente, el viaje se convirtió en una pesadilla cuando Rafael se enfermó gravemente y no pudo abordar su vuelo de regreso a Toronto, Canadá.

<div>Permaneció varios meses en Colombia recibiendo tratamiento, lejos de la comodidad de su hogar. Aunque finalmente ha logrado regresar a Toronto, todavía se encuentra hospitalizado y en estado crítico.
