<div>My dear friend Eva has been through an incredibly difficult year, and I’m organizing this fundraiser to <strong>s</strong>upport them as they continue to recover.

<div>Eva suffered a severe accident that left them with <strong>multiple broken bones and lasting soft tissue damage i</strong>n their right foot and ankle.  Just as they were beginning to make progress in physical therapy and re-learning how to walk, Eva faced another setback. Complications with the surgically repaired ligaments led to a second incident during therapy exercises, causing three more fractures. Ten months later,  they are still dealing with major setbacks and currently have 3 broken metatarsals.

<div>While still navigating this long and painful recovery, Eva was dealt another major blow: they were laid off from their job. Losing their income in the middle of such a demanding healing process has left them in an extremely difficult financial position — especially since most jobs in their field (environmental planning) require outdoor fieldwork they are not yet able to do.
